Transforming Downtown Hot Springs: SOZO Recovery Center’s Vision for Addiction Recovery
Hot Springs, United States – January 29, 2026 / SOZO Addiction Recovery Center /
SOZO Addiction Recovery Center has announced the launch of a public capital campaign aimed at raising $5.5 million to transform a historic downtown building in Hot Springs into a comprehensive recovery facility. This initiative intends to establish Arkansas’ first all-in-one recovery center, which will include a critical Medical Detox Unit.
The primary goal of the campaign is to fill a significant gap in healthcare that currently requires families to leave the city, or the state, to secure full-spectrum addiction recovery services.
“The need for a dedicated recovery center in Hot Springs has never been more urgent,” said Brad Lovan, Executive Director of SOZO Addiction Recovery Center. “Families facing the challenges of addiction often find themselves navigating a fragmented healthcare system that lacks the resources necessary for full-spectrum care. This gap leaves many without the support they need.”
By establishing a facility that offers a complete range of services under one roof, SOZO Recovery Center aims to provide a solution that is accessible and effective. The proposed facility is designed to serve as a resource for individuals and families affected by addiction. It will provide medical detoxification alongside therapeutic programs designed to support long-term recovery.
According to organization leadership, this holistic approach recognizes that addiction is a complex issue requiring more than medical intervention; it demands a comprehensive strategy addressing the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of recovery.
Community Involvement and Fundraising
The campaign invites the community to support this initiative to “bring the solution home.” The organization has outlined opportunities for local residents, businesses, and organizations to contribute, including becoming a “Foundation Partner” through monthly donations or contributing directly to the Capital Fund.
“The transformation of the downtown building is not just a construction project; it is a commitment to the well-being of the community,” said Brad. “It represents a shift in how addiction is perceived and treated, moving from stigma to understanding, from isolation to support.”
The new facility is planned to be a place where individuals can find help without leaving their home city, fostering a sense of belonging throughout the recovery process.
Services and Impact
In addition to the Medical Detox Unit, the center will offer a range of services, including counseling, group therapy, and life skills training. These programs are designed to empower individuals to reintegrate into society. The center will also provide resources for families to help them understand addiction and support their loved ones.
“The vision for this capital campaign is about building a community of support and understanding,” Brad added. “We believe everyone deserves a chance at recovery.”
Throughout the campaign, SOZO Recovery Center plans to share stories of those impacted by addiction to highlight the importance of community involvement. The organization has committed to transparency and will provide regular updates to the community regarding progress and milestones.
“We believe the time to act is now,” the organization stated. “By coming together to address the urgent need for addiction recovery services, the residents of Hot Springs can help create a brighter future for individuals and families affected by addiction.”
